ALI MACKIE

Ali draws inspiration from the local landscape of the beautiful Chiltern Hills where she is based. Her work is a celebration of colour, form, line and texture, reflecting the world around her. She takes great joy in exploring moments of everyday magic with an energetic and colour-infused approach to creativity.

Focusing on mixed media, Ali uses a variety of materials and techniques in her work. She builds up surface layers of bright colour with paint and collage then incorporates drawn line into them. Ali is currently embarking on a learning path designed to push these techniques further. Her aim is to create a rich body of work where colours can mature and personal expression will flourish.

Ali attended Edinburgh College of Art where she achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Furniture Design, followed by a Masters Degree from the Royal College of Art. A successful career in Commercial Interior Design enabled Ali to put into practice the creative and practical foundations of her higher education, ultimately igniting a desire to pursue a career as an Artist.
