Sally’s early training was in printed textiles at Loughborough Art College. She then worked in the potteries as a designer before going on to teach art in various secondary schools. She has now left teaching to concentrate on her own development as an artist.
Landscape, the figure, memories and pools of colour are her inspiration for both abstract and realistic paintings in oils and mixed media. She enjoys both painting and drawing in varied media with exploration and learning all being part of the process. The works very often develop in a way she had not originally intended, making it very liberating to follow the marks and let go of preconceived ideas.
